High School Mentoring

After a day of reading dozens of applications, will the admissions officer put down their stack of files and recall yours, thinking “Ah yes, she’s the one who…?”

That’s what it takes to get into Ivy-Plus schools. And it’s exactly what we achieve with our high school mentoring packages.

Crafting an application worthy of the Ivy League starts long before senior year. A student’s projects, activities, research, and achievements need to complement each other to create a unique brand – which is what we focus on in the high school mentoring packages.

How It Works

Sam meets regularly with 9th, 10th, and 11th graders to help them explore and discover where their passions and interests lie. He then guides students on an in-depth search for original pursuits, which can include after-school programs, starting a business or organization, conducting research at a top university, interning at a company, supporting non-profits, doing creative and artistic projects, attending competitive summer programs, and best of all, conducting an independent project.

Together, we choose these pursuits based on the student’s interests, and ensure that they will all come together to tell a unique, cohesive story that admissions officers will remember.

Every mentorship package includes the following:

  • Kickoff Meeting – an in-depth conversation to assess the student’s baseline (their interests, activities, strengths, and areas for growth)

  • Profile Building Roadmap – a competitive positioning plan with detailed steps and strategies to build a unique brand that admissions officers will remember

  • Ongoing meetings – regular sessions for coaching on extracurricular activities, summer planning, academic guidance, writing skills development, networking, and research program and internship applications.
